ELLESMERE RURAL PARISH COUNCIL

To: All Residents

Did you ever think of joining the Parish Council and being a part of decision making in your community?

The Parish Council currently has 4 vacancies and is calling for residents to apply to join. The vacancies are to represent Lee in the Tetchill Ward, Dudleston Heath, Dudleston and Welsh Frankton Wards.

As a Councillor yourself, you will take part in making decisions at meetings to decide how your council should spend money and what services should be delivered. Can you monitor how well the Council is performing and speak out on behalf of your community?

Could you take on these responsibilities and rise to the challenge? (Yes challenge as some decisions will not be easy and you and your council colleagues will have to stick to the rules that guide your council – not as glamorous as action, but vital to its success.)

You can stand for election if you are over 18 and meet one of the following criteria:

  • you are registered as a local government elector for your area, or
  • you have lived in the area for at least 12 months, or
  • been a tenant or landowner for at least 12 months, or
  • your main or only place of work has been in the area for at least 12 months
